I love The Greatest Hits of Fatboy Slim although I wish the songs were strung together. This is a good way to find some of his best songs without spending too much money. I am happy with the songs included but he could have jazzed it up a little for his true fans.
An excellent, fun collection that's great to listen to randomly (or shuffled). Fatboy's fresh approaches and celebration of fun-ness and absurdity are a great way to lighten any day.
What would happen if Fatboy Slim and Ruby Ann Boxcar met up in a dark alley. This album, a child of twisted imagination. I wish the whole album were more twisted, like the fantastic Walken video for the unique and inspired "Weapon of Choice." There are fun tracks here, like "Praise You" and "Slash-Dot-Dash," etc., but I'm tending to prefer more bass, deeper and more organic, less processed sounds. Fatboy Slim is just one of the best at this genre.
The cd has a few greats and a few misses. First I saw the WEAPON OF CHOICE video with Christopher Walken. I'd never really heard FATBOY SLIM and that was my introduction. I wish KALIFORNIA had been on it. All in all, it was worth the money.
So many artists create music for themselves. I love these compositions. It's music for the listener. But if you want people to listen to it, you've got to think more about the listener. Fatboy Slim does that in this album.
